Number 29 Access Statement 

Pre-Arrival

  • We are located in The Park, a road off Preston Road, a main road in the heart of Yeovil. Our location in Yeovil is peaceful. We are situated opposite Beautiful Victorian gardens in a Conservation area. We are away from the main road itself although there is little more traffic at peak times during school terms coming to and from the Park School.
  • Yeovil town centre is around 5 minutes walk away where you can find all the necessary amenities such as a range of excellent restaurants and shops along with a Tesco Extra Superstore.
  • The nearest bus stop is also less than 5 minutes away and the central bus station is not much further. Buses to all areas of Somerset are accessible from the bus station. The nearest railway station is Pen Mill Station which is under 10 minutes drive away. Yeovil Junction at Stoford is 15 minutes away which is the main Exeter to London Waterloo line. We are more than happy to book a taxi in advance to pick you up from the stations.
  • There are many taxi firms in central Yeovil and, again, we are happy to make advance bookings for you.
  • Unfortunately we do not allow pets of any type.
  • Our information pack and menus can be provided in large print if required. We do not have facilities to prepare documents in braille.

Arrival and Car Parking

  • Please advise us of your anticipated arrival time so that we can welcome you on your arrival and ensure your accommodation is prepared. Complimentary Tea and Cake is served on arrival anytime before 6pm.
  • The entrance to our drive is to the right of the house, there is also on road parking which has a limit of 2 hours stay between 11 and 4, Monday to Saturday. Our front door and main entrance is only a few feet away from the pavement.
  • We offer assistance with luggage.

Main Entrance

  • There is one step of 10cm down to the path leading to the front door & then one step up of 10cm and another of 15cm up to the door itself.
  • Please ring the door bell upon arrival.

Guest Accommodation – Public Areas

  • The front door leads into a porch and then on to the downstairs hallway, the first and second rights off the hallway are the dining room and stairway respectively.
  • The staircase has 17 stairs with a hand rail on one side and wall to the other, the stairs have a width of 85cm and are carpeted.
  • Our guest accommodation is on the first floor (please see “Bedrooms” section for more information).
  • The house is centrally heated throughout but temperatures can be adjusted in each room to suit individual requirements.

Dining Room

  • Guests are welcome to use the Dining room at any time.
  • The Dining room has a large window seat, with views of the Victorian Gardens opposite, a large Dining table on to which breakfast will be served. This room also contains a  radio along with a large collection of magazines and information packs about the surrounding area as well as menus for local restaurants.  
  • The dining area has wooden flooring with a rug.

Bedrooms

  • All three bedrooms are on the first floor. The Red room is carpeted whilst the Blue and Charcoal rooms have wooden flooring.
  • There are en suite facilities in all the rooms consisting of either a shower, a shower and a bath or a shower over a bath, a W/C and hand basin.
  • Tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water facilities are provided.
  • Cartons of long life milk are supplied in the bedrooms. There is a fridge in the Dining Room with fresh milk. Guests can also use this to store their drinks etc.,
  • All rooms have remote-controlled colour televisions with built in digi-boxes.
  • We provide hairdryers, clock radios and spare pillows in all bedrooms.
  • Should you have an allergy to feathers  please inform us when booking and I will\put non-allergic bedding in the bedroom.
  • We are happy to provide sheets and blankets if preferred. Please specify, before your arrival, if required.
  • There is a wardrobe, bedside cabinets with bedside lamps and one or two comfy chairs in each room.
  • There is a guest information folder in each bedroom, which contains details of the residence, and emergency contact numbers including doctors and hospitals in Yeovil.

The Blue Room

  •  The Blue Room is immediately to your right at the top of the stairs.
  • This room has a 5ft bed with padded headboard and  bedside cabinets each side with reading lamps
  • The room has 1 radiator that is thermostatically controlled.
  • The en suite room has a large shower cubicle, cast iron roll top bath, toilet & hand basin. The floor is wooden and there is a radiator and heated towel radiator which provides heating.

The Charcoal Room

  • The Charcoal Room is the second right as you follow the first floor landing round.
  • This room has a 5ft bed with padded headboard and bedside cabinets each side with reading lamps.
  • The room has 1 radiator that is thermostatically controlled.
  • The en suite room has a shower cubicle, toilet & hand basin. The floor is wooden and there is a heated towel rail to provide heating.

The Red Room

  •  The Red Room is the third and final door on the first floor, it is located on the end wall of the landing.
  • There are two steps down to the bedroom which you will encounter immediately after opening the door.
  • This room can either provide two 2ft 6 single beds or one 5 foot super king-size bed with wooden headboard and bedside cabinets each side with reading lamps.
  • The room has 1 radiator that is thermostatically controlled.
  • There is one step down to the en suite room which has a bath with a shower over it (a non-slip mat is provided), toilet and two hand basins. The floor has a luxury vinyl floor and there is a radiator to provide heating.

Gardens

  • Our garden is not available to guests.
  • As previously mentioned there is a beautiful park opposite which has plenty of seats, lawn and shade.

Additional Information

  • There are smoke detectors on each floor.
  • In the event of a fire, an alarm will sound. Please advise us if you have a hearing impairment and might not hear this.
  • The building can be evacuated through the front door or through the side window in hallway, alternatively the door via the kitchen at the back of the house.
  • We do not permit smoking in the house.
  • We are happy to cater for special diets or any particular likes or dislikes. Please advise us of these before your arrival.
  • We are happy to refrigerate any medicines. 
  • Mobile phone reception at the house is excellent.
  • We provide takeaway menus in the Dining Room. We politely ask that guests do not eat in their rooms. We are more than happy to provide plates, glasses and cutlery in the Dining Room for guest use.
